College Admissions Made Possible Organizational Expansion

College Admissions Made Possible (CAMP) has served Alabama since 2011. Our mission is to empower students at underserved schools by equipping them with the essential tools to gain access to the college or university of their choice. We deliver dynamic college-access services and college-entrance exam prep. We support schools with ACT testing analysis and professional development. Our partner is the Birmingham Education Foundation (BEF). Their mission is to increase the number of students in the Birmingham City Schools that are on the path to college, career, and life readiness. BEF runs college and career access, and essential skill building programs for 5000 students. We are located in the heart of Birmingham in the Woodlawn community. It is a vibrant area that is redefining itself, not unlike the students we serve, full of life, courage, and hope. VISTAs who join us will fill vital roles. They will expand our social media outreach; recruit Teaching Fellows; produce training materials; strengthen communication conduits; gather and analyze data to ensure program integrity; expand funding through outreach and special events; and develop relationships with students, educators, residents, and partners. Applicants should be college graduates with strong oral and written communication skills and be proficient with Microsoft office applications. A background check is required. We also want people who believe in the unique value of education as a change agent among low-income students. We want people who enjoy an energetic work environment, show initiative, can both collaborate and work independently and are receptive to feedback. Got it? Then we should talk! Start and end dates are 8/24/2018-8/23/2019 with the possibility of extension. For more information contact Taylor Eads, 5529 1st Avenue South, Suite 4, Birmingham Alabama 35212, teads@campcollege.org, 205-402-9835 x712.
