US2020 - National Network Coordinator

US2020’s mission is to change the trajectory of STEM education in America by dramatically scaling the number of STEM professionals engaged in high-quality STEM mentoring with youth. We are specifically focused on programming that supports underserved & underrepresented students. US2020 was launched at the 2013 White House Science Fair & is now building a working community of committed companies, organizations, schools, government agencies, & cities. This community is leading the way in building a quality-driven STEM Mentoring Movement. We are growing the national supply & demand for STEM mentors by partnering with Fortune 500 companies & best-in-class education partners. We are matching skilled volunteers with these quality programs & creating evaluation systems to measure volunteer & student impact. US2020 focuses on volunteer opportunities that are experiential & hands-on, with the specific goal of building creative & innovative thinking. In addition, US2020 supports a network of innovative communities, The City Network, which foster vibrant STEM mentoring movements in regions across the country that have committed to growing the quality & quantity of STEM mentoring for underrepresented youth. The City Network is a group of city-based coalitions -- comprised of mayor's offices, school districts, corporations, community-based organizations, funders, & more. As a network, they are experimenting with new strategies for scaling STEM mentoring, pioneering learning communities to accelerate each other's work, & feeding a national groundswell of momentum around STEM mentoring.
