THN SAFE Community Engagement VISTA (Austin)

The Texas Homeless Network (THN) works to provide solutions to end homelessness in Texas communities through education, resources and advocacy. Currently, THN has VISTA members placed throughout the state working on capacity building and program development to assist communities in preventing and ending homelessness. This project will raise awareness and help change conversations and perceptions around sexual assault/exploitation, child abuse and domestic/dating violence through community outreach and engagement. The project will build and support partnerships, gain new resources, and enhance the community-wide capacity to address the common goal of preventing and effectively responding to sexual assault/exploitation, child abuse and domestic violence. Furthermore, the project will increase understanding of the intersection of homelessness, housing stability, and poverty with the issues of domestic violence and abuse.
