2017-2018 BMAC AmeriCorps Team

The Blue Mountain Action Council AmeriCorps Team is seeking individuals that are highly motivated and willing to commit to a 10.5 month, 40+ hours per week term of National Service. Our members strive to meet the needs of low income individuals by expanding services provided to children and adults in our community, while serving as a team to engage the community and provide support to a wide range of schools and nonprofits through volunteerism, health education and engaging U.S. veterans in community service throughout Walla Walla, Washington. BMAC AmeriCorps has served the Walla Walla Valley since the start of the AmeriCorps program in 1993. Throughout the years, members have served in a vast assortment of rural, Walla Walla schools and nonprofit, community agencies. Our 12 member team meets regularly for professional and personal development and training, as well as team-led service projects. We believe in providing a meaningful experience to all of our AmeriCorps members, while creating positive change in our community. We ensure that our members will have opportunities to collaborate with each other in order to expand the services and opportunities at their sites, as well as additional service opportunities in various schools and nonprofits. The 2017-2018 BMAC AmeriCorps Program has positions available at the following nonprofits: SOS Health Services of Walla Walla (community health education, volunteer coordination); Tri-State Steelheaders (community health education, volunteer coordination); Blue Mountain Action Council Food Bank (community health education, volunteer coordination); Walla Walla YMCA (community health education); Sustainable Living Center (community health education); CASA of Walla Walla (community health education); SonBridge Community Center (community health education, veterans community engagement); Blue Mountain Humane Society (adoption specialist, veterans community engagement).
