Community Frameworks (CF), directly & via their affiliate network, serves communities in the Northwest states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. Community Frameworks offers lending, consulting and real estate development services to other nonprofit organizations. CF & their affiliates also offer direct services to low-income community members, including rental units, home ownership opportunities, and financial and homebuyer education. Community Frameworks’ is in the process of starting a new program for acquiring and remodeling distressed properties using our existing the Built in Bremerton Acquisition Rehab program as a model.

Member Duties : The VISTA will be responsible for developing Community Frameworks’ formal strategy for acquiring and remodeling distressed properties. Additionally, the VISTA will generate new relationships and foster existing partnerships with local nonprofits. A VISTA in this position can look forward to completing the key objective of developing strategies for identifying distressed properties, determining their availability, and deciding if they would work for the acquisition rehab program. Activities this VISTA can look forward to doing on a day-to-day basis may include researching and screening available properties, communicating with neighborhood councils about problem properties, exploring options for new or different ways to acquire properties, looking for new ways to cut cost during the remodel, such as working with local apprentice programs and job training programs.
