Catholic Partnership Schools Alumni Tracking VISTA

Catholic Partnership Schools (CPS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is a successful, stabilizing and dynamic model of post-parochial Catholic urban education. The Partnership has the authority and responsibility for the financial, academic, operational management and fundraising functions of the five remaining Catholic K-8 schools serving the children of Camden, NJ. The CPS mission is to provide a strong foundational, student-centered academic program that is defined by faith-based values, rooted in respect, and compelled by justice. The Partnership is committed to strengthening and sustaining safe and nurturing schools that inspire and prepare each of our students for rigorous, college preparatory or technical high schools. Catholic Partnership Schools seeks to disrupt the cycle of poverty in Camden, NJ through providing an excellent, student-centered, education to approximately 1,000 students each year. We recognize that in order to fulfill this mission, we must stay involved in our students’ lives even after they graduate from our schools. Catholic Partnership Schools has graduated more than 600 students since it was formed in 2010 and graduates between 90-120 new students each year. Since we are a small organization, it has been difficult to track these graduates and develop a consistent system. A VISTA member would be able to have an impact almost immediately, by building something lasting from the small foundation already in place. Catholic Partnership Schools is a fast-paced environment and no two days are the same. This position will allow a VISTA to develop and work on their skills, which include: facilitating with technology, research, data collection and reporting, as well as good verbal and written communication and the ability to work well as part of a team. In this role you will be instrumental in developing a tracking system for high school students through their graduation and strengthen the network of alumni.
