PAVE New Haven- Dwight Hall at Yale: Education Programs
 
 
 
Dwight Hall at Yale is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Member to serve as Education Programs VISTA through the PAVE New Haven AmeriCorps VISTA Project. This PAVE New Haven VISTA member will build Dwight Hall’s capacity to examine, support, and communicate education programming within Dwight Hall with a goal of increasing the quality of programming and number of volunteers working within New Haven education. The mission of Dwight Hall at Yale is to nurture and inspire students as leaders of social change and to advance justice and service in New Haven and around the world. PAVE (Projects Advancing Vitality and Equity) New Haven is an AmeriCorps VISTA project dedicated to furthering educational equity and financial empowerment in New Haven, CT. PAVE VISTA members serve full-time with partner organizations around the city of New Haven to meet these goals. PAVE assignments promote youth empowerment, financial literacy, and access to educational opportunities and support by building the capacity of organizations to improve and expand programs, increase effectiveness, and create sustainable solutions. PAVE VISTA members receive ongoing support from staff and VISTA Leaders, participate in monthly PAVE meetings, statewide trainings and service events. Member Duties : Assessing the impact of Dwight Hall’s education programming in New Haven, including programs such as Co-Op After School, the Jones-Zimmermann Academic Mentoring Program, Public School Interns, the Yale Prison Education Initiative, and Yale College student organizations. Working with Dwight Hall supervisor to utilize Social Impact Logic Model of Ebrahim and Rangan. Engaging and surveying schools and community partners where Dwight Hall service is performed to ensure they are happy with the service received. Developing pre/post client surveys and other tools to measure program outputs. Compiling survey results to use for targeted service improvements. Developing and piloting training for Yale students entering Dwight Hall education programs on effective tutoring models, and evaluating outcomes and impacts. Contributing to external messaging of education programs, which includes updating Dwight Hall’s website, social media, student/alumni newsletters, and annual report
