PAVE New Haven- Agency on Aging
 
 
 
The Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut (AASCC) is seeking an AmeriCorps VISTA Member to serve as Financial Empowerment and Senior Employment VISTA through the PAVE New Haven AmeriCorps VISTA Project. The mission of AASCC is to empower adults to remain independent and engaged within their communities through advocacy, information and services – including volunteering and intergenerational learning opportunities. PAVE (Projects Advancing Vitality and Equity) New Haven is an AmeriCorps VISTA project dedicated to furthering educational equity and financial empowerment in New Haven, CT. PAVE VISTA members serve full-time with partner organizations around the city of New Haven, focused on furthering these goals. PAVE assignments promote youth empowerment, financial literacy, and access to educational opportunities and support by building the capacity of organizations to improve and expand programs, increase effectiveness, and create sustainable solutions.

Member Duties : This PAVE VISTA Member will serve a dual role: a) developing the capacity of AASCC’s Volunteer and Training (VAT) Department and PAVE partner organizations to integrate financial literacy into selected programs, through contextualized learning that is aligned with curriculum goals (e.g., financing a college education; living on a limited budget; understanding benefits); and b) helping develop funding to support AASCC’s STEPS (Senior Training and Employment Program).
