WACC – EWU Community Outreach Coordinator

The Eagle Volunteers! Food Outreach Program seeks to build community capacity in Cheney, WA by increasing the number of EWU students engaged in community-based work in the focus area of food security and nutritional education. The VISTA member will work with agency partners to determine critical community needs and programming gaps for those with a lack of access to healthy food and nutritional education. The VISTA member will develop a student leadership team that will recruit, train and manage volunteers serving within agencies focused on providing access to healthy food and to nutritional education. The VISTA member will focus efforts based on results of a campus and community needs assessment. Finally, the VISTA member will develop a plan to meet the needs of food insecure EWU students. The VISTA member joins the statewide Washington Campus Compact VISTA team whose members increase the capacity of campus-community partnerships by leveraging campus resources and community assets to address the critical issues of education access and food security. Washington Campus Compact is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our national service programs. People of color, LGBTQ individuals, persons with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
