WACC– WSU STEM Literacy Worms to Widgets Project Coordinator
 
 
 
The STEM Literacy: Worms to Widgets Project Coordinator (Pullman) will support Washington State University (WSU) Center for Civic Engagement's (CCE)STEM literacy program. The primary function of this WACC AmeriCorps VISTA position will be to coordinate a campus and community-based project to increase opportunities for underrepresented youth to engage in STEM programming. This WACC AmeriCorps VISTA position will work as a part of a team to leverage campus-community partnerships to develop opportunities for WSU students to increase STEM programming for Pullman youth. The VISTA member joins the statewide Washington Campus Compact VISTA team whose members increase the capacity of campus-community partnerships by leveraging campus resources and community assets to address the critical issues of education access and food security. Washington Campus Compact is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our national service programs. Member Duties : The VISTA member will maintain and grow the Palouse STEM coalition of campus and community stakeholders, grow partnerships with rural Whitman county, develop 1-2 after school enrichment programs, engage WSU students in activities that increase opportunities for youth in rural communities to explore STEM disciplines, and create a program assessment tool to assess programs strength.
