WACC – SCC BTS VISTA Transitions Center Coordinator
The Transitions Center is a new initiative at Seattle Central College aimed at increasing the number of Adult Basic Education and ESL students who transition into college programs. In year one, the VISTA member will assist in creating foundational infrastructure for the Center to ensure that services are responsive to student needs. This will include conducting a needs assessment, creation of an outreach plan, developing positions for student workers and volunteers, and creating curricula for and coordinating events to support college navigation. The VISTA member joins the statewide Washington Campus Compact VISTA team whose members increase the capacity of campus-community partnerships by leveraging campus resources and community assets to address critical issues of education access and food security. Washington Campus Compact is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in our national service programs. People of color, LGBTQ individuals, persons with disabilities, and veterans are encouraged to apply.
