ACAM Donor Development VISTA, Houston, OneStar

Do you have an appreciation of diverse arts, culture, shopping and delicious food as well as a heart for helping people meet and rise above their basic needs? ACAM is a 501(c)3 public charity nonprofit and Management Support Organization (MSO) committed to supporting excellence in services and organizational development for Community Assistance Ministries in the Greater Houston region. Our staff, network and consulting partners include experts in homelessness prevention, public benefits access, domestic violence, nutrition, economic development, social work, basic needs and nonprofit training, and basic needs/poverty research — creating a unique mix of capabilities to address today's interrelated development and poverty alleviation challenges. ACAM currently serves ministries in five counties within the Houston region and is located in the galleria area, near one of the largest shopping malls in the country. Houston, TX is home to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Space Center Houston, the Houston Museum District and a multitude of international festivals, music and arts events. The Resource Development VISTA will assist ACAM in increasing its organizational capacity to effectively engage and cultivate funder partners to strengthen philanthropic relations. The VISTA will enable ACAM and our partners to build lasting, fruitful relationships by securing grants and researching the tools needed for effective donor recruitment, management and retention. The VISTA will enhance ACAM’s current online presence, technical tools, and prospective reach on a local and national scale.

Member Duties : The VISTA will assist in managing ACAM’s donor contact systems and establish ways to cultivate funder partners, such as conduct research related to available grants, specific funders, donation management tools and event formats. Assist with grant writing and reporting, donation recognition and tracking, updating social media and web announcements and collaborating with third party vendors to schedule demos, free trials, and seek technical clarification on behalf of management. Coordinate incoming capacity building grants from assistance ministries within the ACAM network (that serve more than 200,000 low-income individuals in Houston each year) to target donor prospects that align with programs and projects that benefit the network as a whole. Maintain ACAM’s web-based donor profiles and awards pages such as GuideStar Platinum, Donor Houston and Great Nonprofits to keep data and benefits of the profiles current and attract new donors.
