Northern Illinois Food Bank - Food Processing Associate
 
 
 
Along with our 800 network members, including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools, youth and senior sites, the Food Bank provides nutritious food for 71,500 different individuals weekly across 13 counties. Our 7,000 square mile service area stretches our staff to adequately build awareness of the need for hunger relief and engage supporters in every corner. With the help of VISTA team member’s, we will increase support to help us towards our strategic goal of providing 75 million meals by 2020 through volunteering and financial support.

Member Duties : The Food Processing Team Vista will evaluate and enhance the expedition of projects on the production floor, along with helping to create and support training activities, which will ensure timely execution of Projects/Training. The VISTA will assist with managing the projects and Training of all Volunteer Supervisor/Teens, develop a defined process for SOP/Training Guides, create scripts for volunteer training materials, develop guidelines to ensure the food processing projects are completed correctly, develop consistent messaging and uniform program/product information, develop training and education materials to help assist volunteer supervisors to provide informed answers at all times, develop product standardization of bulk repack product labeling and cooking instructions, develop enhanced food safety and sanitation practices for volunteers, and develop program and training for staff and volunteer supervisors to ensure high quality guest service.
