*BMVP - Summer Reading – Great Book Giveaway!

The Housing Authority of Billings is a public non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe, decent and affordable housing to individuals and families in Billings and surrounding area. Academic performance creates economic opportunity through employment. Reading for pleasure has been revealed as the most important indicator of the future success of a child and addressing literacy skills is a key first step in overcoming factors that lock individuals into a cycle of disadvantage. Developing a sustainable summer literacy program can help prevent summer learning loss with the children of the Housing Authority. This project will prevent summer learning loss and improving academic engagement and performance by increasing the number of students completing VISTA-supported education programs.
