ARTS-Us-Volunteer and Marketing Coordinator (CSP)
 
 
 
The mission of ARTS-Us is to develop twin cities urban youth leaders, in and through the arts. To engage youth and community in arts-focused programs to help them engender pride, realize creative potential, and preserve a legacy of excellence in African cultural heritage by: 1. Providing high quality cultural arts programs, particularly of the African diaspora, to help youth LEAD: -Learn about people, culture and history by exploring and creating in a variety of artistic disciplines. -Engage in healthy, safe and productive ongoing relationships with adults and other youth. -Apply new knowledge and skills in the arts to challenges in school, home and community. -Develop strengthened skills for self-expression, communications and coping. 2. Work with artists and educators to increase student of color participation and achievement by infusing the arts and culture of the African diaspora into classroom curricula. 3. Engage community to promote and celebrate of youth of color for their growth, achievement and leadership in and through the arts. **This position is part of the City of St. Paul VISTA Cohort. This cohort provides a learning community of 20 fellow VISTA members all serving within Saint Paul. We provide bi-weekly professional development training and additional support throughout the year.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will refine and enhance volunteer management practices to improve the volunteer experience at ARTS-Us. The VISTA will do an in-depth volunteer program assessment to highlight strengths and weaknesses of the program and develop a timeline to address those weaknesses as identified. The VISTA member will also create an improved volunteer orientation and training process that will educate new volunteers about our mission and prepare them for working with youth. The VISTA will also develop new marketing strategies to increase community awareness of ARTS-Us. This will include: creating a tracking system to measure the effectiveness of marketing systems, develop templates for marketing collateral, and develop an annual content calendar.
