A Place Called Home Summer Associates

VISTA Summer Associates will help APCH deliver high-quality, free summer programming that provides nutrition as well as educational opportunities to students to prevent summer learning loss experienced by youth across the country during the summer season. We expect to achieve the following: - 450 youth engaged in summer program - 60,000 total hours of programming provided to members - 10,000 healthful meals served - 80 enriching field trips offered - 70% of participants re-enroll in Fall 2017 semester at APCH. Members arrive at the Center at 8:00 am and leave at 6:30 pm. There are two classes per day, morning and afternoon, which are offered for a two-week long “session”. Classes may include: Art Production; Discovering Music; Yearbook; Field Hockey; Robotics; Dance & Storytelling; Printmaking; Fabric Fun; Rhythm & Tap; Swimming; Improv; Create & Recycle; College Readiness Bridge Program and many, many more. There are a total of four sessions during the summer, so eight weeks of programming will be provided. Numerous field trips are also offered throughout the summer, both within individual department and Center-wide, which Summer Associates will participate in as applicable.
