Member Duties : 60 Million Americans don’t have digital literacy or internet access. This “Digital Divide” mostly affects families earning less than $25k/year, individuals without high school diplomas, and communities of color; the ConnectHome Initiative aims to diminish this gap. Serving with 1 of 28 Public Housing Agencies (PHA) ConnectHome Summer Associates will link area residents with the resources of the PHA, Siena College, and the local community to bridge the digital divide with sustainable programs and services. Digital Inclusion Summer Associates will work on a variety of capacity building areas and in direct service to the community. The HUD ConnectHome Summer Associate Program has 28 POSITIONS ACROSS THE COUNTRY. Through a partnership between the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and AmeriCorps, 28 members will serve with the ConnectHome Initiative this summer.
