Community Engagement Specialist - CRNRP

CRNRP’s mission is to support residents and stakeholders of the West Bank neighborhood by providing culturally appropriate tools and resources that promote civic engagement, leadership development, and equitable access to economic and educational opportunities for all its constituents. Our neighborhood is home to major institutions like the University of Minnesota, Augsburg College, and Fairview Health Systems, as well as a diverse small business and nonprofit community. With a poverty rate above 50% and an immigrant population of 45% (largely East African) our residents face unique challenges and opportunities. The Community Engagement Specialist will work to increase opportunities for community involvement in the Cedar Riverside neighborhood in order to ensure underrepresented community members play a leadership role in CRNRP’s planning and implementation efforts. The VISTA will focus on sustaining and growing our volunteer program and building our capacity for effective communications, outreach and community engagement.
