2017 826LA Volunteer Training & Retention Coordinator
 
 
 
826 National will work with Corps 18 volunteers to build the organization’s capacity to work with underserved youth in order to develop essential writing and creative thinking skills that lead to academic success. Corps 18 volunteers will support volunteer recruitment, program development, and organizational capacity building in seven different writing and tutoring centers located in seven urban areas across the country (San Francisco, Ann Arbor/Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, and New York). Additionally, 826 National will deploy AmeriCorps*VISTA members to work directly in our centers to provide for the sustainability of volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts; conduct development activities, and support in-school and on-site program and program expansion efforts to provide field trips, scholarships and summer programs for under-resourced youth.

Member Duties : Member will improve quality of volunteer experience by supporting the development and accessibility of training materials. Support the design, implementation, and evaluation of supplemental training and resources. Member will also Improve volunteer on-boarding and recognition efforts. Provide for the sustainability of the project by documenting the plan and system for volunteer recognition. Additionally, member will increase volunteer engagement by introducing mobile technology. Provide for the sustainability of the project.
