2017 Development Coordinator (826 Michigan)
 
 
 
826 National will work with AmeriCorps*VISTA members to build the organization’s capacity to serve under-resourced students in seven urban areas across the country where we have writing/tutoring centers (San Francisco, Ann Arbor/Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago and New York). AmeriCorps*VISTA members will work at the National office in San Francisco, focusing on community assessment and replication, marketing, development and retail operations. Additionally, 826 National will deploy AmeriCorps*VISTA members to work directly in our centers to provide for the sustainability of volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts; conduct development activities, and support in-school and on-site program and program expansion efforts to broaden access for under-resourced students in these cities

Member Duties : VISTA member will build and maintain relationships with corporate and foundation partners to increase funding opportunities to sustain free writing and tutoring programs for youth. Research and advise on strategies to increase support for 826michigan writing, tutoring, and volunteer programs. Member will also Develop outreach and marketing materials to help build awareness about 826michigan to attract increased financial and volunteer resources for programs.
