826 National will work with Corps 18 volunteers to build the organization’s capacity to work with underserved youth in order to develop essential writing and creative thinking skills that lead to academic success. Additionally, 826 National will deploy AmeriCorps*VISTA members to work directly in our centers to provide for the sustainability of volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts; conduct development activities, and support in-school and on-site program and program expansion efforts to broaden access for under-resourced students in these cities.
