2017 Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator (826 NYC)
 
 
 
826 National will work with Corps 18 volunteers to build the organization’s capacity to work with underserved youth in order to develop essential writing and creative thinking skills that lead to academic success. Corps 18 volunteers will support volunteer recruitment, program development, and organizational capacity building in seven different writing and tutoring centers located in seven urban areas across the country (San Francisco, Ann Arbor/Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, and New York). Additionally, 826 National will deploy AmeriCorps*VISTA members to work directly in our centers to provide for the sustainability of volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts; conduct development activities, and support in-school and on-site program and program expansion efforts to broaden access for under-resourced students in these cities.

Member Duties : Develop volunteer organization partnerships to sustain volunteer corps pipeline. Member will improve volunteer diversity across programs, in order to better reflect student service populations. Improve volunteer recruitment and retention in South Williamsburg after-school tutoring program. Develop communications and support volunteer recruitment related to new program in East Harlem, which will enable 826 to reach more students.
