2017 Development Systems Coordinator (826 DC)
 
 
 
826 National will work with Corps 18 volunteers to build the organization’s capacity to work with underserved youth in order to develop essential writing and creative thinking skills that lead to academic success. Corps 18 volunteers will support volunteer recruitment, program development, and organizational capacity building in seven different writing and tutoring centers located in seven urban areas across the country (San Francisco, Ann Arbor/Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago, and New York). Additionally, 826 National will deploy AmeriCorps*VISTA members to work directly in our centers to provide for the sustainability of volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts; conduct development activities, and support in-school and on-site program and program expansion efforts to provide field trips, scholarships and summer programs for under-resourced youth.

Member Duties : VISTA member will streamline development processes to ensure continued funding opportunities for 826DC’s free writing and tutoring programs. Member will also build and maintain relationships with corporate and foundation partners to increase funding opportunities to sustain free programs for youth.
