2017 Marketing and Events Coordinator (826 Boston)
 
 
 
826 National will work with AmeriCorps*VISTA members to build the organization’s capacity to serve under-resourced students (ages 6-18) in seven urban areas across the country where we have writing/tutoring centers and provide homework assistance (San Francisco, Ann Arbor/Detroit, Los Angeles, Washington DC, Boston, Chicago and New York). Additionally, 826 National will deploy AmeriCorps*VISTA members to work directly in our centers to provide for the sustainability of volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts; conduct development activities, and support in-school and on-site program and program expansion efforts to provide field trips, scholarships and summer programs for under-resourced youth.

Member Duties : VISTA member will develop and implement systems to coordinate 826 Boston’s communications efforts in order to support organizational growth to reach more underserved students and educators across Boston. Build awareness about the impact of 826 Boston’s free writing and literacy programs for underserved youth to generate more funding and volunteer resources. Design, plan, coordinate, and document events that raise funding and awareness about 826 Boston. Coordinate and maintain volunteers to support 826 Boston’s unique welcome center and store to introduce newcomers and other visitors to the organization.
