2017 Student Success/Parent & Community (JCL)-3 members

VISTA members will enhance JCL’s tutoring program at high poverty public elementary schools and afterschool programs in the San Francisco Bay Area to improve the academic success of socio-economically disadvantaged students in grades K-3 who lag behind their peers in reading, while expanding opportunities for increased parent and community engagement to support student success. JCL’s 60 partner schools and after-school programs are located in San Francisco, the East Bay and the Peninsula regions. Each of our three “Blended” VISTA’s would be assigned to focus on one of our three program regions. Emphasis for each VISTA will be ‘Going Deep’ at three targeted schools in his/her respective region. Each VISTA will share best practices with each other and the JCL team, to be implemented during the service term.
