Member Duties : The nutrition project will consist of three phases. The first phase is to complete a literature review for evidence based assessment methods and tools used with the homeless population. The Office of the Medical Director will then use these tools to assess the nutrition status of the homeless population served by DHS. The second phase of the project will be to analyze the data and use the findings to create a program to improve the nutrition status of the homeless population. The final phase will be to work with community based, city, state and/or federal agencies to secure funding, implement and evaluate the program. If time permits, the AmeriCorps member will assist with implementing and evaluating the nutrition program.
