NYC VISTA-ActionNYC (MOIA)

ActionNYC is a citywide program that delivers community-based legal services at scale with the immediate goal of helping immigrants upgrade or learn more about their immigration status, thereby increasing their economic opportunities and combating poverty. The program is implemented by immigrant-focused community-based organizations that reach thousands of New Yorkers every month at CBOs, schools, and hospitals – free of charge – through targeted, culturally competent outreach, confidential consultations with trained community navigators, and direct legal services. Further, clients are provided with connections to social services for which they may be eligible such the city’s municipal ID, Medicaid, and workforce and educational programs.
