Member Duties : In many schools, Summer Associate positions will be filled by volunteers who mentor students during the school's year. By incorporating these volunteers into summer programs, there is a continuity of services that will help sustain student attendance. Summer Associates who serve as family engagement specialists will spend theme developing meaningful relationships with families and helping to identify resources for families in need. Finally, those members serving as group leaders will engage students in fun, safe and productive learning experiences to help lessen the impact of summer learning loss, which is prevalent among students in low-income, high-need communities.
