SerVermont - Capstone Community Action

Capstone Community Action serves three counties in central Vermont: Washington, Lamoille, and Orange. We are nestled in the Green Mountains, just a few hours from Boston and Montreal. Capstone provides comprehensive services to help people achieve economic well-being with dignity and develops partnerships to strengthen Vermont communities. Our commitment is to alleviate the suffering caused by poverty, to work with individuals and families to move out of poverty, and to advocate for economic justice for all Vermonters. Capstone programs work to alleviate poverty through our Weatherization, Head Start, Community Economic Development, and Family and Community Support Services. Activities and programs include food shelves, credit and financial coaching, asset building, matched savings program, micro business development, tax preparation services, child care nutrition, housing services for homeless and precariously housed individuals and families, workforce development through Community Kitchen Academy in partnership with the Vermont Food Bank, weatherization programs, landlord outreach, and Head Start programs.
