Strong City/Charm City Clinic Site Expansion VISTA
 
 
 
Charm City Clinic (CCC) has a demonstrated ability to improve access to care throughout the communities in which we work. Focusing our efforts among Baltimore’s most vulnerable individuals, operate health clinics to provide access to care. We operate two programs, focused on preventive health screening and health resource case management, that work together to educate and support our clients. To date we have assisted over 3,800 low-income individuals. This position is sponsored by Strong City Baltimore in Baltimore, MD; and the VISTA member will serve with Charm City Clinic (CCC) in Baltimore, MD. Strong City sponsors 30 VISTA projects at nonprofit, government, and community organizations throughout Baltimore City and Maryland. Established in 1969 to help neighborhoods become safer, better places to live, Strong City's mission is to build and strengthen neighborhoods and people. Strong City will provide support to Charm City Clinic and the VISTA member throughout the year, including recruitment, training, resources, and professional development opportunities, and meetings.

Member Duties : Advance healthy futures by facilitating access to health care for economically disadvantaged individuals by supporting the establishment of a new clinic. The VISTA will: 1) Gain familiarity with the operation of the clinic and with the programs of our partners Dee’s Place and BHLI. The VISTA will be trained in the implementation of our clinic model so that they may best facilitate recruitment and training of new volunteers. 2) Develop protocols for coordination between CCC and our partners. 3) Develop an infrastructure for engagement with community stakeholders to identify unaddressed needs and recruit partners to address those needs, and recruit and train volunteers to effectively implement our model of preventive health screening and health resources case management. 4) Document all protocols, train staff in program infrastructure for sustainable engagement with community stakeholders at new clinic site.
