Mercy Housing Lakefront’s mission is to create stable, vibrant and healthy communities by developing, financing and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors and people with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities. The VISTA will assist with a review of the overall strategy of the financial literacy program with any updates or changes that need to be made. The VISTA will also continue to train MHL staff in order to inform them of ongoing service offerings and to help integrate the curriculum into the overall Resident Services Program Model.

Member Duties : The Financial Literacy Specialist will: (1) work with the Special Projects Manager of the Capacity Building program to develop new strategies for integrating the Capacity Building program into our current service offerings. (2) reviewing our current Financial Literacy curriculum and processes and then assisting with us in determining the best strategies to engage the various demographics which we serve. (3) Work with Special Projects Manager to further develop a Capacity Building strategy for Seniors and Youth. (4) Work with Special Projects Manager to coordinate quarterly Resource Fairs.
