2017 Respond Now

The mission of Respond Now is to provide immediate relief for residents of the Chicago south suburbs who are in need while maintaining dignity and choice. We do this by: Helping people through their temporary emergencies with financial assistance. Providing food to families and individuals in need. Providing sound referrals and counseling for other needed services. Despite the level of poverty in South Suburban Cook County, the area’s geographic isolation has led to a lack of services that would help residents take control of their own economic empowerment. Respond Now’s comprehensive housing programming allows the community to find housing resources that best fit their need, from Homelessness Prevention, Rapid Rehousing, Street Outreach, Supportive Housing, and Housing Counseling. The VISTA will work on specific projects that allow Respond Now to increase our capacity to provide each one these services. The projects will range from research, program development, community outreach, resource development, and enhancing currently existing partnerships.
