The Resource for Community Living’s mission is to offer adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities opportunities to achieve greater self-esteem, dignity, and participation in all aspects of community life through affordable, independent housing options, individualized skill instruction, and necessary support services. The VISTA will work on expanding the work of the Financial Independence Center by developing a savings and asset building strategy for clients with disabilities. The VISTA will design a program process strategy to recruit participants and match them to financial coaching and asset building services at the Host Site.

Member Duties : Program Development VISTA will: (1) Work with Executive Director (VISTA Supervisor) and Financial Independence Center Steering Committee to develop the financial literacy and financial coaching services for savings participants. (2) Work with Executive Director, Assets for Independence Program and the Illinois State Treasurer’s ABLE account program to create a savings program process model for Host Site. (3) Work with Executive Director, Steering Committee, Financial Coaches, and staff to compile a Savings Program Process Manual/Handbook.
