SerVermont - Groundworks Collaborative

Groundworks Collaborative was established in 2015 following the merger of two well-established organizations: the Brattleboro Area Drop In Center and Morningside Shelter (having previously been in existence for 27 and 36 years respectively). Groundworks Collaborative provides ongoing support to families and individuals facing a full continuum of housing and food insecurities in the greater Brattleboro area. Groundworks Collaborative provides food to those struggling with food insecurity in the community through our food shelf, case management for several housing voucher programs, and operates two emergency shelters, one year round, and one open seasonally six months out of the year. Groundworks also has a committee comprised of board members and individuals from the community called Changeworks. Their focus is on increasing awareness for those experiencing homelessness and food insecurity, engaging local, state, and federal agencies to help achieve systemic change, and creating opportunities for clients to participate and lead advocacy efforts. OUR MISSION Groundworks Collaborative provides ongoing support to families and individuals facing a full continuum of housing and food insecurities in the greater Brattleboro area. OUR VISION We envision a community in which every person has their basic needs met, including a safe and dignified place to call home. OUR VALUES •Extreme passion for and dedication to our Mission •Always working towards the best interest of the client, employee, and the organization. •Building relationships with Trust, Integrity and Compassion •Innovation in program, workplace culture, and advocacy •Adapting, evolving and leading change •Transparent and inclusive communication and decision making •Taking care of self and others •Humor and having fun in our work

Member Duties : The goal of the VISTA at Groundworks Collaborative is to learn and understand our data system, streamlining its use, and finding solutions on managing the amount of data collected and how to then use said data to tell our story. This will involve working with staff across the organization to understand the various programs and functions they serve, and what the gaps in service provision may be, with streamlined data to better illustrate needs that may not currently be covered. Our goal is to ensure that all of our programs are effective and efficient in order to best serve all that may be in need of our services, and to create the highest impact possible in reducing hunger and homelessness, among any other identified needs.
