2017 Open Communities

Open Communities would like to increase its reach to underserved populations within its service area. Specifically, while we have been successful in providing services to these individuals, we have not been as successful in including them in our advocacy and organizing work. Working closely with the Senior Organizer, the VISTA will create a membership base of current and former clients of Open Communities. The VISTA will also recruit and identify individuals who are from underserved communities within our service area to become involved in our Justice Teams. In addition, the VISTA will collect and document client stories for use in promotion and communication pieces. The stories will be captured in both written and video format.
