VIP - Fundraising Coordinator (EMERGE)
 
 
 
This position is part of the VISTAs in the Piedmont (VIP) program sponsored by United Way of the Piedmont. EMERGE Family Therapy Center seeks to address the mental health provider deficit in Spartanburg County, SC by providing counselor training and mental and behavioral health services to low-income adults. Last year, EMERGE hosted over 10,000 therapy sessions, significantly impacting the community. As our VISTA, you will focus on increasing our organizational capacity to provide affordable care through fundraising. You will work with an event committee to plan and execute our first annual fundraiser. You will develop an annual report format, based on best practices. You will create and implement a donor care strategy and pursue grants to provide additional funding. The VIP program offers a unique approach to VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability.

Member Duties : VISTA will organize an event committee and work collaborative to plan and implement our first annual fundraiser. VISTA will create and implement marketing strategy for the event. VISTA will identify needs and recruit volunteers to support the fundraiser event. VISTA will research best practices for an annual report and create a template. VISTA will develop, implement, and manage a donor care strategy. VISTA will research and pursue grants that increase organizational capacity to provide services. VISTA will evaluate internal processes and make recommendations to increase efficiency.
