JP - Volunteer Outreach and Engagement Coordinator (MAVA)
 
 
 
Jeremiah provides a supportive community for single mothers to pursue a college education. Through a combination of early childhood education, affordable housing, and life skills training, families are able to find a path out of poverty. Volunteers are core to the mission of Jeremiah Program making up 25% of the organization’s total work force. As the trends in volunteerism change, so do the needs of our families and we need help keeping up! We are looking for a creative individual to help expand and innovate how we engage volunteers as well as increase the diversity of the volunteer program to better reflect the families we serve. As the VISTA Volunteer Outreach and Engagement Coordinator you will engage volunteers from diverse populations, expand volunteer opportunities, and provide direction for our volunteer advisory council. Serve with a highly supportive, respected organization and see the direct positive impact volunteers have on the families we support. Through the expansion of the volunteer program in these ways, you will build Jeremiah Program’s capacity to serve our families moving them from poverty to prosperity.

Member Duties : As the VISTA Volunteer Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for Jeremiah Program you will: 1. Expand and refine volunteer recruitment efforts to increase volunteer diversity so as to better reflect the families we serve. 2. Grow and support the Volunteer Advisory Council to provide leadership opportunities for volunteers and provide guidance to staff on how to best retain volunteers to serve low income families. 3. Elevate the volunteer program overall and increase staff buy-in for the development of innovative and skills-based opportunities to better support our families.
