FEC - Volunteer Program Coordinator (MAVA)

As the VISTA Volunteer Program Coordinator with Family Enhancement Center (FEC), you will be part of the mission of preventing child abuse within at-risk families. FEC is a nonprofit organization that connects with over 500 children each year who have experienced child neglect, physical, and/or sexual abuse. Our mission is to keep all children safe. Our philosophy is that healing takes place with the involvement and support of the whole family. Since 1993, FEC has worked to promote systemic change by supporting the emotional healing of children and families, while working in the community to create a culture where family violence is not accepted. In this position you will engage in refining and growing a volunteer program, called the NEST project, which is designed for families struggling to meet the needs of their children due to mental health and/or behavioral challenges. These at-risk families often have multiple needs and require more than most family support programs provide. With the additional support of volunteers, these families will be allowed a chance at success.
