VIP - Technology Coordinator (UCCL)

This position is part of the VISTAs in the Piedmont (VIP) program sponsored by United Way of the Piedmont. Union County Carnegie Library serves as a community hub in Union, SC. The library is involved in the Public Health Indicators Taskforce and partners with SC Works, United Way, and the Union County School District to provide services for the community. Many residents of Union County do not have access to or training on how to use technology, which hinders their ability to access employment, public benefits, healthcare, and education. As our VISTA, you will create and implement an assessment tool to determine the current status of technology infrastructure. You will identify opportunities for education and develop a technology program to increase user proficiency. You will also seek funding and collaborative partnerships to address any technology infrastructure or trainings gaps. The VIP program offers a unique approach to VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability.
