Member Duties : The summer associate would serve for 10 weeks and help with 2 big events in the summer which are Teen Summit and Summer Kickball Camp as well as a research project based on the community strengths and needs. Every year we take 6 at-risk from our Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) to different colleges in Texas to gain leadership skills, teambuilding and college experience along with different youth in Texas. The associate would assist the coordinator with the preparation process before the Teen Summit, help register youth, and attend the Teen Summit as a chaperone. In addition, the associate would work with the youth to create a Strengths and Needs Assessment based on the training they get at Teen Summit. The assessment will be focused on their community of 78744 and will include research, creating a report, surveys, and community outreach.
