19 - Health and Wellness Coordinator (MTCC)
 
 
 
This position is part of the VISTAs in the Piedmont (VIP) program sponsored by United Way of the Piedmont. Middle Tyger Community Center, located in Duncan, SC, provides free and low cost health, education, and family support services that enrich lives and build community. You will advance the partnership efforts between Middle Tyger Community Center, St. Luke's Free Medical Clinic, and EMERGE Family Therapy and Teaching Clinic to provide free and low-cost physical and mental health services to area residents. You will work collaboratively with all three organizations, identifying and implementing ways to increase capacity and improve the client experience. The VIP program offers a unique approach to VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability. Member Duties : Enhance patient intake and referral process. Increase community awareness of programs and services offered. Increase community awareness of challenges faced by uninsured population. Increase successful recruitment of medical professional volunteers to support services. Conduct capacity-building work specifically related to population-level healthcare planning for our local community’s homeless population.
