VIP - RENEW & Food Co-op VISTA (GR)
 
 
 
This position is part of the VISTAs in the Piedmont (VIP) program sponsored by United Way of the Piedmont. Greer Relief and Resources Agency exists to transform neighbors in need to neighbors who thrive by providing services to eliminate poverty and help neighbors overcome barriers to success. You will expand capacity in two distinct programs: RENEW and Greer Food Co-op. You will evaluate the RENEW life skills training program and develop a model to expand the program reach. You will also continue the work of the current VISTA with the Food Co-op by implementing a new model currently being researched and evaluating its success. The VIP program offers a unique approach to VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability.

Member Duties : VISTA will increase capacity of RENEW program to improve financial behaviors and build life skills of participants. VISTA will grow capacity of food co-op to provide access to healthy foods to the community. VISTA will evaluate the sustainability of the food co-op. VISTA will analyze needs of community and design programs to meet those needs. VISTA will create volunteer recruitment materials. VISTA will conduct community outreach to increase awareness of programs and volunteer opportunities. VISTA will design and implement volunteer management practices.
