VIP - Volunteer Engagement VISTA (CIA)
 
 
 
This position is part of the VISTAs in the Piedmont (VIP) program sponsored by United Way of the Piedmont. Christmas in Action serves low-income homeowners in Spartanburg County, SC in order to prevent and eliminate substandard housing. You will manage two new grant programs as well as the volunteer cultivation program. You will create a program that helps fast-track veteran-owned homes. You will organize and run the City of Spartanburg Priority Program, recruiting volunteers and contractors for more extensive home repair projects. You will also evaluate the volunteer program in order to recruit and retain more volunteers and develop a volunteer appreciation plan. The VIP program offers a unique approach to VISTA service, as you will spend 10% of your time each week working collaboratively with 19 other VISTA members placed in the community to research and implement community-wide solutions focusing on either increasing access to behavioral healthcare or increasing financial stability.

Member Duties : VISTA will assess current volunteer program and develop processes and policies that increase volunteer recruitment and retention. VISTA will create a program to help fast-track veterans home repairs. VISTA will organize and run the City of Spartanburg Priority Program to enable larger home repairs.
