Governor's Institute - Summer Youth Counselor

This position is part of The Vermont Campus Compact (VCC) AmeriCorps Pathways Program, hosted by the Vermont Higher Education Council (VHEC). VCC AmeriCorps is a state-wide AmeriCorps program designed to partner with college campuses and community partners across Vermont in order to A) increase college aspirations and readiness among low-income and rural youth, and B) increase college persistence, retention, and success among first-generation and otherwise underrepresented college students. The Governor’s Institutes of Vermont empowers young people with intensive, hands-on learning experiences in college settings which inspire their academic and creative passions, build confidence and leadership, and expand their sense of possibility. We do this by providing affordable, residential, accelerated summer learning programs in more than 50 topics to more than 400 students on eight VT college campuses. More than 10,000 young Vermonters have participated in GIV since 1983, and the majority call it “life-changing”.
