Program Development VISTA- Union Mission

There are over 4,000 homeless people in the greater Savannah area. Many of them find shelter each night, but more than 700 people are chronically homeless, moving in and out shelters over the course of a year. With the changing face of homelessness, almost half of the homeless population are women and children. Union Mission works to prevent and end homelessness one person at a time by providing a pathway to self-sufficiency and independent living. By going beyond shelter and utilizing supportive services such as employment training and mental health counseling, Union Mission works to address the root causes of homelessness in the greater Savannah area.
