Fall Mountain Food Shelf Development VISTA
 
 
 
There are 11.8 % of the people in Cheshire County, New Hampshire and 9.7% of the people in Sullivan County, New Hampshire that are living below the poverty level. There are 15.8% and 16.7% people living below the poverty level in two Vermont towns that frequent the food shelf. No one is turned away. The Fall Mountain Food Shelf, an all-volunteer organization, provided 12,470 individual nutritious boxes of food to families and individuals that needed assistance during 2016. 50,430 individuals of all ages received 1,549,820 meals. 1,106 families received Thanksgiving dinner boxes filled with all the fixings for a good dinner as well as a turkey.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will assist with the development of writing new grants, support existing grants and recommend and participate in fund raising projects that will help to support our clients. The VISTA member will create a (SOP) Manual listing all volunteer job descriptions and put together a list of volunteers and their contact information. The VISTA member will manage Social Media including the FACEBOOK account and the Website. The VISTA member will interact with clients and volunteers in the same non-judgmental spirit of caring and love that has always been a hallmark of the organization.
