** MTCC Boys & Girls Club of Richland County--Summer Camp
 
 
 
The Boys & Girls Club of Richland County is an after school program based in Sidney, MT for children in kindergarten through 12th grade designed to provide a safe place for kids to learn and grow. There are few other alternatives for after school care. The lack of affordable alternatives may lead to some families choosing to allow their young child to go home alone. The goal of the Summer Associate project is to provide a safe place for elementary students to maintain and increase academic performance by providing free meals and engaging activities during the summer months. The project will help alleviate childhood hunger in Richland County by not just providing food assistance, but also the knowledge, skills, and supplies to provide healthy meals for themselves at home.

Member Duties : The VISTA Summer Associates will plan and lead learning, creative, or physical activities to engage children at summer meal sites, with the help of available volunteers; Help increase awareness of the summer meal program among families, youth, and community members; Recruit community volunteers to help increase the sustainability of activity programs; Improve the quality of food offered at summer meal sites.
