KCHK mobilizes the resources and talents of the community to improve access to affordable fresh food and safe places to walk and play. Our collaboration with HNMA will increase their organizational capacity and position them to mobilize the community around healthy eating and active living. The incumbent of this position will help grow a local Kansas City, Kansas minority-operated nonprofit organization, align their programming with place-based health initiatives and lead organization communications. The Historic Northeast-Midtown Association (HNMA) is the Neighborhood Business Revitalization Organization for the northeast area of KCK.

Member Duties : Develop and execute a standardized, plug-in newsletter format and quarterly schedule for e-mail and online dissemination. Procure stories from neighborhoods, government departments, local churches, and area businesses that are of value to Historic Northeast Midtown Association (HNMA) constituents. Recruit a volunteer to maintain the newsletter processes. Facilitate resident participation in healthy eating and active living (HEAL) initiatives. Update the HNMA website and develop an active social media platform. Support HNMA programming and align programs with HEAL. Participate in fund development activities, including grant writing and annual giving appeals.
