St. Mary Development Corporation VISTA

St. Mary Development Corporation’s mission is to work towards the day when all residents of southwest Ohio – especially the economically disadvantaged – have a decent affordable place to live and can become a part of a community. We provide affordable independent-living for low-income seniors and we help them to remain independent by connecting them to critical life services through our Resident Services program. The St. Mary VISTA project goal is to elevate awareness and support for the St. Mary Development Resident Services program. The VISTA member will increase awareness by creating and strategizing a full scale marketing and communications plan. The plan will include strengthening the organizations’ social media impact, review of existing print materials, creating direct mail marketing campaigns, improving website content, strengthening survey capacities, and conducting research of emerging online communication methods. The marketing and communication VISTA project objectives will be, through the implementation of the communications plan, to increase the visibility and gain recognition and support from potential donors and foundations for the corporation and our Resident Services program. Delivery methods would include print communications, social media, webpage, radio, television, direct mail marketing, email marketing, videography (YouTube) and gaming.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will create a marketing and communications plan with a timeline for implementation. They will assist in strengthening the long-term fiscal viability of the program through foundation grant applications, preparing presentations (PowerPoint) to donor audiences, conducting research on emerging communication trends and expanding our communications outreach. They will conduct resident surveys to garner testimonials for marketing purposes. The VISTA will identify trade show opportunities and prepare booth displays and distributed materials. They will track all web activity algorithms for the identification of target markets and strategize how to improve our mission message. The VISTA will also create and implement a marketing campaign for #GivingTuesday. The VISTA member will create a highly valued contacts list for messaging to external community vendors. The VISTA member will have strong writing and editing skills as well as online social media content experience.
