Member Duties : The MDCCC AmeriCorps VISTA will work with SOUL to (1) re-evaluate volunteer needs in each of its three programs as well as organizational needs, based on this analysis they will (2) modify position descriptions for each of the needed roles, they will then (3) share their recruitment process with Chess Girls’ DC including materials for training and on-boarding volunteers. The VISTA will (4) conduct formal volunteer recruitment, (5)train volunteers in conjunction with program administrators, (6) conduct formal performance evaluations with volunteers, and finally (7) create a manual compiling data left by the previous VISTA’s highlighting the success of the program and its impact on all stakeholders.
Throughout the process, the MDCCC AmeriCorps VISTA will share findings with the broader community and develop practical tools and resources that are piloted at SOUL Programs can be replicated with other nonprofit organizations.
